Caring for your artwork

Caring for Your Encaustic Artwork

(A quick guide for long-lasting luminosity)

Thank you for adding an encaustic piece to your collection! Beeswax is a naturally durable and archival material with a beautiful, light-responsive surface. With just a little mindful care, it will stay vibrant for generations.

Display & Environment

  • Avoid direct sunlight and placement near fireplaces or heat vents

  • Stable room temperatures are ideal — no extreme heat or cold

  • Encaustic does not melt until around 180°F, so normal home conditions are perfectly safe

Surface Care

  • Dust gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth

  • Do not use water, cleaning sprays, or abrasives

  • Protect the surface from sharp objects or pressure — the wax can scratch if rubbed hard

Wax Bloom (Totally Normal!)

  • Over time, you may notice a soft, matte haze on the surface

  • This “bloom” is simply natural oils migrating in the wax as it cures

  • A light polish with a clean, soft cotton cloth will restore the artwork’s shine and depth

Handling

  • Lift from sturdy edges; avoid touching the surface

  • If framing, use spacers so the artwork doesn’t touch the glass

Your encaustic artwork was created with beeswax, damar resin, and pigments chosen for their longevity and radiance. With gentle handling and thoughtful display, it will keep its glowing, dimensional character for decades to come.

Caring for your Fresco & Plaster works

(A quick guide for long-lasting beauty)

Thank you for welcoming this piece into your space! Plaster and fresco are strong, architectural materials — but they appreciate a little gentle care:

Display & Environment

  • Keep indoors, away from bathrooms or damp areas

  • Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources

  • Maintain a stable, comfortable room temperature

Cleaning

  • Dust occasionally with a clean, soft microfiber cloth or soft brush

  • Do not use water, sprays, or cleaners on the surface

Handling

  • Lift from the sturdy edges, not the textured surface

  • When hanging, ensure secure wall hardware appropriate for the artwork’s weight

Caring for Your Resin Artwork

(A quick guide for preserving clarity and shine)

Thank you for bringing this resin piece into your home! Resin creates a luminous, glass-like finish that protects the artwork beneath — and just a little mindful care keeps it looking pristine.

Display & Environment

  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — UV exposure can cause yellowing over many years

  • Keep away from fireplaces, radiators, and other high-heat sources

  • Normal indoor temperatures are ideal; avoid attics, sunrooms, or garages

Cleaning

  • Dust with a soft microfiber cloth

  • For fingerprints or smudges, lightly wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed

  • Never use abrasive pads, glass cleaner with ammonia, or harsh chemicals — these can dull the surface

Scratch Awareness

  • Resin is durable but can scratch if contacted with something rough

  • Avoid stacking objects or leaning sharp edges against the surface

  • If micro-scratches appear, they can often be polished out by a professional or the artist

Handling

  • Support from both sides; resin can be heavy depending on size

  • Do not press or bend a resin surface applied over flexible substrates

  • When framing or hanging, use secure wall hardware and avoid sawtooth hangers for heavier works

Moisture & Spills

  • Resin is water-resistant — but still, wipe spills quickly to prevent water spots

Your resin artwork features a hand-poured finish designed to protect and enhance color and depth. With simple cleaning and thoughtful placement, it will continue to shine brilliantly for many years to come.
